What I want to know is where can one find a balance of "doing" and resting? I know that we have been go-go-going since August when school started. The exams have overwhelmed, the sleep has been missing and the stress has been, well, stressful. So here we are--on break--without any idea how to handle the freedom. When I lack goals and things to do I go stir-crazy. It's odd isn't it? (Maybe this is just me.)
You work for break and then twiddle your thumbs when it actually occurs.
I do know one thing: The exploration of Atlanta commences today.
First stop, Henri's Bakery. As I explained to Peter, it is the best stinking stupid sandwich in the world. Indescribable, fresh, scrumptious.
Second stop, most likely the High Museum to see their MoMA exhibit. There was talk about the World of Coca-Cola, but we decided against it.
Lastly, Les Mis. You all know my anticipation for this film is palpable.
Tell me how you are making your Christmas time off (for those students out there) enjoyable, and those of you that are back at work, I'm sorry to tease you.

I saw Les Mis yesterday and LOVED it. So far this break has been non stop so I haven't had too many moments of dwindling my thumbs haha thank goodness!
ReplyDeleteI defintely get a little bit bored during breaks, it is a challenge to go from a structured routine to lazing around without any goals. I just try to remind myself that I will regret not enjoying the low stress weeks once exams roll around again!
ReplyDeleteIt is not just you. It took me a full week (or more!) to properly wind down from the fast paced stress and anxiety of writing 8 finals. Now, I'm spending my days drinking wine, watching movies, laughing with friends, putting on a pretty dress and red lipstick, and if I end up sitting on the couch with nothing but the fire beside me and a book on my lap, then so be it.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand! I am so ready for structure in my life and a schedule again. I do have to go back to school a week early for an intensive though, so I probably will wish I was back on break that week.
ReplyDeleteAnd you and your man are absolutely precious!
absolutely CANNOT wait to watch Les Mis. AHH.
ReplyDeleteHannah, your blog is absolutely precious! As well as you and your fella!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you all had a Merry Christmas. Have a Happy New Year!
